2 Years!!
He has to of grown at least like 6 inches or more. How is he still wearing them??
(yes - I do feel like a bad mother if you are wondering.)
The last time we bought him shoes was May 2010. I remember because we were about to go to Disney World and both kids needed new tennis shoes. I also remember being shocked that we spent about $50 on those shoes. However, looking back - they were a pretty good investment. After all - they did last a long time. I mean - he has played soccer, basketball and flag football over the years. He has gone to amusement parks and playgrounds. They have survived a lot of abuse. And they look it. They were barely hanging together.
So we went yesterday to buy new shoes. And it was a quick trip. Once Grady spotted the shoes that light up - his mind was made up.
Yes - we made him try on several other pairs.
Yes - we tried to convince him that he needed to focus on comfort and not looks.
However - he insisted. So, since he had put up with the same shoes for 2 years, we gave in. After all - they were pretty cool.
I hope they last half as long as the last pair.

Wow, those are some mean looking shoes! I'll be trying to keep Finley out of shoes the length of time Grady was wearing the same pair. I hate shoes for myself, and I think it might be worse for her. Or, the girl will have more shoes than I could ever dream of. We'll see ...
